I’ve always enjoyed reading Safire’s column, “On Language,” in the New York Times. Safire’s more than just a man with his fingers on the pulse of the language; in this Op-Ed column from 1998, a year before banking deregulation became law, he warns against the repercussions of “finance” spilling over into “commerce and industry.”

Hmmm.

(BTW readers, original content from SheSpoke will resume as soon as SheSpoke is able to put together a string of coherent thoughts.)
